Half term is almost here and you’d like to finish all the nitty gritty chores before the holidays begin.
Use our cleaning guide to fight the dust and brighten up your home this month!
Let the light shine through
Clean windows can brighten up your home like nothing else, and with a spring clean on the horizon, we can’t think of a better way to show your home in a new light. Giving your windows a once-over may be enough, but a deep-clean every once in a while will leave them sparkling!
First you need to tackle your window tracks, these are easy to forget about but they gather dirt over time and cleaning them can be a chore. All you need to do is sprinkle some baking soda on the worst parts and wipe on a little white vinegar, leave for 5-10 minutes to break down the grime and scrub with an old cloth. Remember to wear your Marigold Extra-Life Kitchen Gloves for this job!
Next you can take care of the windows. Before you spray your windows, make sure to dust around the frame, ensuring any specks of dirt and dust are banished. Pick up your favourite window cleaning solution and give your window a good spray, then using our Crystal Clear Window Cloth, wipe one side of the glass horizontally and wipe the other side vertically, that way you will be able to tell which side still needs another wipe if they started off really dirty.
Kitchen cupboards getting out of hand?
A good cupboard de-clutter and clean is an essential part of any spring clean. To get your cupboards gleaming again, mix 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water and use with our Wiper Upper All-Purpose Cloth. With added cleaning power thanks to the microfibre, this cloth will help with deep cleaning and easy removal of stubborn dirt, without damaging your cupboard surfaces.
New walls, new rules
With Spring coming up, you may be thinking of revitalising your home with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you want to freshen up the master bedroom, paint the Wendy house, re-do your picture frames or just change one wall, make sure you have all the paints and brushes you need as well as gloves to protect your hands. Disposable gloves will save you time from scrubbing the paint off your hands whilst also helping to protect you from splinters. Our Extra Universal Disposable Gloves are exactly what you need.
Make your shower doors shine
For stubborn build-up of soap scum on shower walls and glass doors, combine equal parts hot white vinegar and liquid dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray the shower tiled walls and let this solution stay in place for at least 4 hours — overnight is better — then wash it away with hot water and our Squeaky Clean cloth. Approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute, this microfibre cloth deep cleans and with its unique super-absorbent coating it locks in liquids to ensure even the glossiest of surfaces are left streak-free.
Now you can treat yourself to a nice long, toasty bath for all the effort you’ve made. You deserve it!
Spring Cleaning can be an overwhelming task to begin but with our useful tips to hand, the process will be a whole lot easier for you, helping you get your house spick and span in the blink of an eye (well… maybe not that fast, let’s not be unrealistic!).
