Why use a Room by Room Cleaning Checklist?

Challenging yourself to a deep clean can be overwhelming, so by breaking it down, it will help you to relax and enjoy the process. So, roll up your sleeves, put on your rubber gloves and dive in…

Sparkling Kitchen Cleaning Checklist

Grab a Marigold Squeaky Clean Flexi Microfibre Cloth, for streak free results and a Non Scratch Scourer, for harder to remove messes.
•    Start from the top and work your way down: That way dirt won’t fall onto items you have just cleaned.
•    Clear out: Empty cupboards, fridges and freezers. Throw away expired produce, recycling where you can.
•    Wipe down surfaces: Inside and out! This includes the microwave, countertops, inside and outside the fridge, freezer and cupboards/drawers. Don’t forget the stove, the kettle, the windows and anything else that might need a quick once over.
•    Dishes: Don’t forget to wash any dishes you use less often, before putting them back inside your freshly cleaned cupboards.
•    Reorganise:  Place items you use regularly at the front, and those with the shortest shelf life (if you have multiples of the same item).
•    Tackle the bins: Clean both inside and out before adding a fresh bin liner.
•    Sweep, mop and optionally steam mop: Give the floors a thorough clean and leave to dry. Steam cleaning is a highly effective way to kill viruses and bacteria.
•    Finishing touches: Any final wipe downs and arrange any kitchen décor.

Simple Bedroom Cleaning Checklist

Grab a pack of Microfibre cloths and get ready to relax in a tidy bedroom space, once you’ve followed these steps:
•    Streamline your wardrobe: Empty your wardrobes of any clothes you no longer wear and bag up to send to charity. Wipe down both the inside and outside of your wardrobe with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Use a dry cloth to dry down before replacing clothes.
•    Wipe down the bed frame: Use a damp cloth to wipe down the bedframe and headboard, don’t forget to get right into corners.
•    Damp dust surfaces: From dressing tables, sills and skirting boards, use a damp Microfibre Cloth to catch and remove dust, which could otherwise just resettle in other places.
•    Clean any shiny surfaces: Use a damp microfibre cloth to remove dirt and grease from windows and mirrors and a dry cloth to buff dry.
•    Vacuum/mop floors: Clean floors with a vacuum and then mop if you have hard floors, don’t forget to clean under furniture too.
•    Finishing touches: Organise any bedroom décor.

Simple bathroom cleaning checklist

Why not complete this list by colour coding your cleaning with the Marigold Let It Shine On & On! Microfibre Cloths. Each pack contains a blue, pink and green cloth, so you can assign each to different tasks. And don’t forget to grab some Marigold Longer Bathroom gloves with extended cuffs for extra protection:

•    Give it wipe down: Use the pink (cloth) for the sink, bathtub, shower and tiles.  Don’t forget taps and plugholes!
